1 out of 5 stars WAS ON CLOUD 9 UNTIL...   April 29, 2010
IAMAZON08 (Michigan)
After coming from a transition move no longer having my old bed only to sleep on a comfy couch of a family members, I gave the AREOBED considerable thought especially after being encouraged by a family member and I went through it to buy it. After ordering online straight from the AEROBED company, the order shipped fast, set up was easy, the feel and support of the bed was good and comfy, BUT some 9 months later or so, the cloth-top area where I mainly rest started to form slit "holes" for no reason. Immediately I called customer service only to be put on hold 1-2 occasions for up to 10-15 minutes each time before any response. Then I was nicely and given the option to seal holes with a fabric flexible adhesive-as this was the only bed I had at the time to rest on, until I made the choice to send the company required documentation for a prompt replacement as it was under warranty. Well, I held out a little longer to do further inspection and oddly enough a new slit-like hold show up to 2 weeks after discovering the previous hole....WEIRD. Then I would have to fully deflate the bed to do a patch up...inconvenient. At times it got so bad that I would be partially on the floor after waking up to here a faint wheezing sound from a new hole mainly on the top that has the fabric on it. After being totally frustrated, disappointed and apprehensive of getting a replacement for fear of the problem happening again, I called it LOSS AT $300.00...NO SLEEPING BEAUTY. So to sum up, It's a great bed BUT the materials are faulty and defective and customer service is questionable . I strongly caution your decision...BUYER BEWARE !

3 out of 5 stars Good for an inflatable bed, but beware of deflating.   February 2, 2010

Being able to keep this bed plugged in and simply push a button to inflate it is wonderful. It's high like a real bed, you can fit sheets to the top section and add a skirt to the bottom if you wish (both included).

This next part is biased so take it with a grain of salt, but we bought this bed from a seller claiming it to be new, but we received a used one. This bed did not stay inflated all night, and by the morning we (two young 130-170lbs adults) were sinking into each other. It had to be re-inflated at least once a night. Luckily that was just by the push of a button, but still extremely annoying. We were using this as a temporary bed after moving until we bought a real one, so it was slept on every night for 2-3 months. It was pretty comfortable while we could stand the deflating, but soon were so annoyed with it we bought a real bed. Again, this deflating issue was with a slightly used one, I don't know if new ones would have the same problem.

1 out of 5 stars Aerobed stinks.   October 22, 2009
Amazon user (Chicago, IL)
I have used this aerobed mattress less than 10 times for guests over the period of 15 months and it leaks. With the 3 layers, it is hard to find the leak, and the warranty on this is only for 1 year, doesn't matter how well used it is, or not. Best they could do was offer me some advice on patching it, or 25% off a new mattress. Given that we spent almost $300 on this thing, there is no incentive not to buy a super cheap one and wait for it to leak, and replace it as necessary, same as I will have to do with this $300, albeit comfortable, piece of junk plastic. Do yourself a favor and if you are looking for add'l guest space, just get the cheap one and replace it when it too leaks.

1 out of 5 stars Do NOT recommend this product   August 23, 2009
K. Pieters
The bed leaked air the first time we used this product. After being very embarrassed that our guests had a restless night sleep, I called the company. They said that most of the leaks were through the pump and sent us a new pump. I aired the bed up and again it leaked air. We did not get one good night sleep out of this bed.

3 out of 5 stars good quality   August 7, 2009
J. Brewer (AR)
We purchased this bed a couple years ago because we move around a lot a wanted someting lite weight. The bed is easy to inflate and deflate and does not require you to keep adding air into it like some other cheaper beds do. The only problem we have with it is if two people are sleeping on it you do tend to roll to the center of the bed. Also it does not give great shoulder support. The bed is adjustable for firmness but to make it to firm is not comfortable to sleep on. Overall good quality bed.
