Great Value and solid wood construction. Easy to Assemble September 3, 2010

This product is priced even cheaper than garbage IKEA particleboard/MDF furniture. But unlike those, this is actually quality poplar hardwood, well cut and toleranced and easy to put together. Assembly was a breeze and bolts go into metal inserts allowing proper torque and tight assembly.
Regarding the center beams: Yes, they are higher than the slats by nearly exactly 3/16". It is NOT 3/8" or 1/2" like other reviews are saying. At 3/16" it CAN pose a problem with thinner futons but most likely you will not notice it.
Home Depot sells a 3/16" tempered pegboard material that is 48 inches by 96 inches. You can cut it into two panels at 24 inches by 78 inches each and you will be able to lay them over the slats for an even platform. The pegboard material is recommended for proper airflow.
At this price, I think it is not absurd to have to do a little DIY handiwork to get it perfect. Especially since the final product is excellent (unlike other cheap furniture where even after some DIY clamping and gluing and creativity, the final product leaves a lot to be desired).
Clearance under the bed is 11.75" leaving a lot of room to store stuff.
Highly recommended but beware the center beams MAY pose a problem and you may want to get some material to improve it.

This is a simple bed frame, nothing fancy. It was a cinch to put together - about 20 minutes for me. I like that is sits off the floor about 10 inches, will make it easy to vacuum under there. Can be stained or painted, but I like just as it is - a lite blondish color. Good price and made in the USA- NOT in China!

The Queen Size Nomad Platform Bed Frame was delivered timely and in great condition. I am very pleased with this fame. I had an antique bed which was very high and I had a hard time getting up on it. I am a retired nurse and had two back surgeries, so I needed a lower, studier bed. I put it together with help from my son and it was accomplished within an hour. The frame is very sturdy and I love the fact that it is solid poplar wood. I made one mistake, however, I did not set in the slats before I tightened up the frame, so I had to loosen the bolts and place the slats on the bed and retighten the bolts. All together, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and am looking forward to my 14" memory foam mattress to be delivered to go on it. Another bonus is that the wood is unfinished and can be stained or painted to suit your decor. I am a totally satisfied customer and the price is great as well.

First off, the shipping was INCREDIBLY fast! Second, while the number of pieces is slightly overwhelming at first, it took me all of twenty minutes to put the thing together. It is super sturdy, I walked on each slat, individually, and I weigh 200 lbs easy. Because I have a bad back, I did put a box spring on instead of just using it as a platform. While this causes the bed to be SUPER high off the ground, I sleep like a baby.
I highly recommend this product.

What really made us decide to buy this bed was the bolts rather than screws that hold the bed together. It was very easy to assemble, is sturdy and can be taken apart. This is the best value for your dollar.
