Label parts please! July 6, 2010 JAYIIDA It seems easy enough to put together without parts being labeled, but one mistake and you end up with holes and cracks in your headboard. It's not the sturdiest of headboards but works and looks good if put together without major accidents.
Very satisfied with this sturdy headboard March 28, 2010 sparknova (Philadelphia, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like other reviewers have described, the box for this headboard did not arrive in the best condition (it also featured some footprints on it). However, I was pleased to find that not a single piece had so much as a scuff or scratch.
I frankly disagree with anyone who claims the assembly instructions were unclear or difficult to follow. Yes, the pieces aren't individually labeled, but this is a 1-2 hr task for anyone who has any experience at assembling anything.
While made of laminated pressboard, I was very pleased with it's sturdy nature once assembled. So much so, that I do not intend to attach it to my standard metal frame bed. It works quite nicely standing on it's own between my bed and the wall. (It does not include bolts or predrilled holes if you wish to attach it to your frame.)
The backer is fairly thin (< 1/4") and can easily be cut or drilled if you wish to feed wire for an alarm clock or other device through the back.
Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, assembly, and final look of this headboard.
LOOKS NICE. August 19, 2009 Tin Arrived in good condition. Easy to put together. Was exactly what I was looking for. Glad I purchased!
Not compatible with bed -- injury machine! July 22, 2009 vermicin (Seattle, WA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We got this bed with the intention of replacing a dresser and sidetables with a single compact unit. I bought it with the Sonoma King Platform Storage Bed.
It's not that hard to assemble, but it's less clear than your average (ikea). There were some knicks and scratches, but it comes in an 80lb+ box.
But, the kicker: The bed and the headboard don't match up! If you have the king headboard and buy the king platform bed, it won't fit together! The bed is about 1" too wide. So, without a bed stabilizing it, it takes almost no effort for the front-heavy headboard to come tumbling forward, carrying 80+ lbs and smashing into whatever is in front of it-- be it the bed, or maybe your face when you're trying to figure out if you just need to angle it differently. I have a severely bruised arm from this injury, and it would definitely break bones if it fell all the way to the ground.
In short, the set is a disaster, especially for the money you pay. You might as well get an ikea bed. If you just want the headboard, for the love of god, attach it to your bedframe -- just don't try to buy the bedframe made by the same manufacturer and sold as a set.
I gave it 2 stars because, hey, it's nice looking and solid. I will just have to dremel up the bed or the headboard molding to make it work.
headboard January 8, 2009 Anita Oliver 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product was junk. The description of the item did not say that it needed assembling. When my husband went to assemble it, he found that parts were drilled incorrectly. When he attempted to drill the holes correctly, the material split making it impossible to use. Also, when he was hammering items together as directed, the wood split. I sent the company an e-mail requesting my money back and the dissatisfaction that we had the headboard. To date, I have heard nothing from them. I would not recommend this company to any one.
