 Bed looks good, poor packaging though... February 27, 2010

Got this platform last Wednesday and the packaging had been torn open due to the outside cardboard box being too light to handle the weight of the wood inside. Both ends of the box were taped up with some of the boards sticking out of the box. After constructing the bed I found 4 screws missing. Not a big deal and was able to find substitute screws. I was at first disappointed seeing the box all ripped open and just barely together with tape at both ends, but the bed went together easily with studying the directions and taking my time. I did it all by myself in about 2 hours with a Phillips-head screw driver. I would suspect that I am not the only one that will receive this platform with the box ripped open. The box appears too flimsy to contain the wood that I guess weighs about 50 to 75 pounds if not more. Just a warning for anyone who buys this to be aware of... I would have given this 5 stars if the packaging was better and thicker to contain and protect what is inside.

We got this bed for our 14 yrs old daughter. She likes it, too. It is simple and nice looking. For the price $310 and free shipping it is a very good deal. Shipping was fast and there was no demage on it. We put it together my husband and I, less then an hour. The parts fits nicely together. Feels sturdy. It is not too hard to move it after we put it together, like others wrote it in their review. We have it on carpet, and it might be harder to get a hold of it if you have hard wood floor.
So far we had this bed for 6 weeks and we are still happy with it.
I gave a 4 star only because it is not real wood and I don't know how long it is going to be in a good shape.

It was fairly simple to put together but there is one step where the outside panels are not well marked enough to make it easy to line it up... otherwise good!

Quality is really good, but design is very, very, very stupid! I assembled all the parts in the middle of my bedroom and hoped to move it to the corner, but later I found that based on their design, only it's assembled, it just sat where it was! Too stupid! Now I can just sleep in the middle of my bedroom!
Besides, no screw holes in the perimeter bars, which make it very hard to assemble the final three bars.
Stupid design!
